Women and gambling

Men usually have a more materialistic approach to gambling than women, because money or winning money is their primary reason for doing so; whereas with women, gambling is an experience or an event worth waiting for.

Mostly the game of choice for women seems to be focused on only one game in the casino which is the slot machine. Some observations and theories suggest that women gamble because they want to escape from all the hustle and bustle of their daily activities, may it be at home or at work. Women also prefer games with minimal action.

Though some women go for table or card games, but often times they opt to go to the slot machines area. Women also have a different view in going to the casino. It is like going to a holiday or a vacation and the games they play are the sources of recreation and means to temporarily forget the demands of their work.

As an observation, women give logical and quite practical reasons why they gamble. First is that gambling is a way to escape and women do not care who is watching them or they just simply do not care and they are enjoying their time since gambling is free from interaction. Second reason is that gambling provides great entertainment. And third, some women find gambling as a means of becoming wealthy and financially secure in an instant.

Online casino gambling is also a popular escape for women who wanted to have a break from the demands of domestic life. Gambling online is fast becoming a favorite leisure time for women who wanted easy and hassle-free gaming. There are two reasons why women accepted and adopted the concept of online gambling. First is the convenience it offers since they don't have to leave their homes and second is the sense of privacy. Women, as much as possible, wanted privacy in most of their activities because it gives them more freedom and independence.

The only major set back of gambling, whether online or land-based, is that it could lead to some problems like addiction and improper money management that would lead to financial turmoil. However, timing and proper understanding of gambling per se is important especially for women who are using it as source of escape. For the more educated women, there is no reason for them not to think further before succumbing into the would-be's of gambling. It just takes discipline and awareness of the pros and cons.
